Hamlet

I forgot to mention that Isaac performed as Laertes in Hamlet just before we left. The kids have been begging for a tragedy so the directors were like, "You want a tragedy....we'll give you a tragedy!" It was such heavy stuff for kids to perform, but the directors were brilliant about it. They split Hamlet into three main roles and then added a "Hamlet chorus" to perform the long, tormented soliloquies of Hamlet's thoughts. It was brilliant to watch five Hamlets on stage arguing out his crazed thoughts and really drove home the madness he was sinking into. Bravo! The kids performed amazingly even though the flu rampaged through the cast. They brought me to tears with their moving performances and beautiful, haunting songs. What an amazing group of kids!
